Social Innovation Sprint

In Fall 2017, we partnered up with Launchpad -- an innovative center that introduces high school students to entrepreneurial thinking by utilizing the resources of the Rady School of Management and UCSD -- to offer a Social Innovation Sprint. High school and college students were taught about design thinking and entrepreneurship in this two-day event. They learned the steps of understanding, defining, ideating, prototyping, marketing, segmentation, and pitching to a panel of experts. The Fall 2017 Social Innovation Spfocusedocued on issues related to homelessness; Winter 2018 Sprint focused on Climate Change; and the next Social Innovation Sprint in Spring will focus on San Diego-Tijuana Border Issues. Future quarters will focus on topics such as sustainability, transportation, education, water and food, and healthcare. Those who complete the sprint will earn a UCSD certificate!
