Triathlon Green Trainer
[UC San Diego Triathlon Team]
Create a green bicycle trainer that allows the UCSD Traithlon team to feed the power they generate on training rides back into the campus grid.

Quarter Goals

This quarter the team work toward integrating the control into one system through a Texas Instruments microcontroller. This will include collecting and interpreting analog output to determine power generated and displaying the outcome on an LCD screen.

Subteams

Control: Focusing on creating resistance for green bike trainer to allow Triathlon bikers to harness energy.

Sensing: Focusing on using Hall Effect sensors to measure the current and voltage and outputs onto a low res lcd display screen.

Programming: Focusing on re-writting Arduino code for new TI microcontroller.

Client
The UCSD Triathlon team has a standing commitment to host the most sustainable triathlon possible. As student-athletes, they aim to shape a greener, healthier tomorrow by leading the way with sustainable athletics. The team uses its position as athletes and role models to make a positive social and environmental impact by making sustainability a priority.
